Festivities on Halloween Day

Our Halloween Day was full of fun. I took the day off so I could volunteer at Teegan's school. After some fun Halloween activities the Kindergarten class participated in a Halloween parade. Teegan dressed up as Obe One Kanobe.

After school we came home to decorate pumpkins. Ryton and Jaida colored their pumpkins and then decorated them with potatoe head parts and Teegan decorated with paints that glow in the dark.

After decorating our pumpkins we joined the neighbors over at the Lowry's for a Halloweenie Weenie Roast. The kids had a blast playing with their friends and jumping and/or sliding into a large pile of leaves. We ate hot dogs and had a yummy hot chocolate bar with many options. Grandma Cynthia and Mike met up with us at the Weenie Roast.

As soon as the sun went down it was time for us to leave and get on our way for some Trick-or-Treating with Grandma Cynthia and Mike. Obe One Kanobe was very excited and was running house to house while Thing 1 and Thing 2 were trying to keep up with him and also trying to figure out what it was we were doing. It took a few houses for the twins to get the objective of this Trick-or Treat night. Before long, Thing 1 was out running Obe One Kanobe. Thing 1 and Thing 2 were pretty cute when yelling Trick-or-Treat at each of the houses. All three of the kids were very polite with saying "Thank You" as they were grabbing handfuls of candy from each of the neighbors. Mom had to eventually supervise the amount of candy they were taking. After about 45 minutes of Trick-or-Treating the Halloween bags were to full for the kids to carry and Thing 1 and Thing 2 were wanting to be carried as well. Mom and Grandma Cynthia took Thing 1 and Thing 2 back to the house to hand out candy to the other Trick-or Treaters, while Dad, Mike and Obe One Kanobe did some more Trick-or Treating. The kids had a lot of fun and DID get to eat some candy that night.

We hope you all had a Happy Halloween.

First Day of Kindergarten

Teegan started Kindergarten on September 1, 2009. I thought I was going to be in tears dropping him off for the first time at a different school with friends he did not know. However, Teegan was so excited and anxious to get to his class that it actually made it easy on mom. How can I be sad and crying for him when he is so looking forward to this next big step in his life.

Fall Season: U6 Soccer

Neil committed to coaching Teegan's soccer team for another year. The Fall session started at the end of August and ended with their last game on Halloween.

Teegan continues to get better and better each game. The first part of the season he was eager to play defense and was great. He was a hustler and made many great saves. As the season continued, Teegan become anxious to make some goals. And when he is determined he does what he wants. He was a scoring machine. Teegan seems to really love the sport and we are looking forward to see what position he is drawn to next Spring. He is all over the field and in a good way!!

Coach Neil had another great season and is fantastic with the team. It takes a lot of patience and they are all crazy about him. There was great improvements and a lot of successes over the season. Good work Coach Neil!!

The Twins turn TWO!!

Ryton and Jaida turned two on August 25th and we celebrated with family and friends in our backyard with a kiddie pool party.

Preschool Graduation!!

Teegan started at the Childrens Academy on January 11, 2007. He was 2 and a 1/2 years old. And on August 20, 2009 he graduated from the school. I only have good things to say about the Childrens Academy and we are going to miss everyone. Teegan learned a lot and made some great friends.

Congratulations Teegan!!
We are so proud of you each and every day.

Teegan's Birthday Surprise

Teegan celebrated his "Pirate Birthday" the weekend before his actual birthday. His true birthday was the Wednesday after and I wanted to do something fun with just us on the day of his birthday. Teegan loves to stay in hotels and he loves dinosaurs. So I got us an employee rate at the Holiday Inn in Ogden and we went to the Eccles Dinosaur Park the next day -- on Teegan's birthday.

It was a great surprise and he had no idea. We picked him up from Preschool Tuesday night and told him we were off to sleep somewhere and that we were going to go and have some birthday fun the next day. Everything was a big hit, except for the birthday gift we gave him (bike helmet).

Teegan loved our short birthday trip. Ryton was okay with it. And Jaida hated it. I didn't even think about how the dinosaurs could be a scary thing for a two year old. Either way, we had a good time!!

Teegan's Pirate Birthday Party

Teegan decided that he wanted to have a "Pirate Birthday Party" at his house for his 5th birthday. It was a costume party and just about everyone came in costume except for a few and one who came as a fairy pirate.

The party was last Saturday, August 8th and Teegan had 24 Pirate friends show up for the party. It was completely chaotic, but so much fun. All the time and effort that was put forth to prepare for this party was well worth it. The kids had a blast. We started the party off with some arts and crafts. The kids were able to decorate their own swords. Next we moved to pin the treasure chest on the map. Who knew 5 year olds were so smart. A few of them cheated and cheated good. Very cleaver!! Then we moved onto the treasure hunt, which was the hit of the party. It was very well done and they loved it. And yes, of course there was a treasure to be found (goodie bags). And then two pinata's. We have yet to have a birthday party for Teegan without a pinata. And then we ended with the standard cake and opening of presents.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a great day for Teegan.

4th of July Parade

{I know this posting is 3 weeks late, but that is how all of my postings are.}

After moving up to the Millcreek area four years ago we heard about a parade that runs down Evergreen (a great neighborhood with street lined trees). The parade does not harrass you with tons of advertising, floats can not be more than 4' X 8' -- and there is tons of fun for the kids and candy everywhere. For those of us who are old. It is the type of parade we all remember when we were little. What has happened to parades over the year? Well, there is still one good parade that lives on.

The twins with dad, patiently waiting for the parade to start.

Twins were a little freaked out by the motorcycle cops.

Great Grandma is making them feel safe.

Candy!! It took the twins awhile to figure this out.

But, big brother was a big helper with showing them how it's done.

We hope you all had a great 4th of July Holiday!!

The Mountair Mile

For the last 3 years we have participated in the Mountair Mile. The race is for the kids and the idea is that they can pick and choose what they want to ride for the first portion of the race and the last part they run it in. Teegan has always picked his bike and never runs. He bikes the entire race. The last two years I have ran with the twins so they can also participate. It is a lot of fun and for a good cause. All proceeds go to the "Sharing Place".

Bruised Nose Bone

Teegan asked for a band-aid the other night because he bruised his nose bone.

And he wouldn't take the band-aid off all day.

OUCH!!

No Training Wheels

Okay, so a week and half ago we decided that it was definitely time to take off the training wheels. When they begin to become more of a burden then anything and turning around is annoying, you know. Teegan was a little timid and wanted to start with removing just one, which we did and that only lasted 30 seconds or so when he said let's take off the other. He was an instant pro and mom and dad felt horrible that the training wheels didn't come off earlier.

He is doing fantastic and loves to ride his bike (all the time)!

Teegan scores....

After Teegan played soccer in the Fall we knew we wanted to get him on an outdoor team this Spring. We were on a waiting list for a Soccer Club called "United Impact". Prior to the season starting Neil received an email that said they have enough players on the waiting list to start up another team, but they need a coach. I was all excited because I have always wanted Neil to coach our kids. Neil was not game and it took a lot of convincing. Finally, we agreed and Neil is now coaching Teegan's soccer team. It is so cute to hear Teegan call him Coach Neil out on the field.

Teegan got his first outdoor goal during his second game. Mom missed it because it was a 9:00 AM game, which was way to early for the babies. Last week Teegan had two assists (one of those could have been and should have been his goal). We are so proud of him and he is having a blast. What an all-star!

Keep it up Coach Neil.

Neil asked for team name suggestions and one of the little girls wanted to name the team "Coach Neil". Neil wasn't liking it, and after throwing out some suggestions, half of the team wanted to be called "The Dinosaurs" and the other half wanted to be called "The Monsters". Needless to say, they are "The Dinosaur-Monsters". Try cheering for that name!

Teegan's Playing T-Ball

We decided to sign Teegan up for his first experience with baseball (T-Ball), and only because he has buddies who are playing. Ripley, Braden, and Christian are all on his team and the coaches are Adam and Ryan. It has been fun!
